What is a Skin Therapist?

A Skin Therapist, or a licensed Esthetician, is a professional who provides skin care services, and often, waxing, and lash services. Licensed estheticians can work in many environments such as a day spa or salon, or a medical office performing non-invasive medical skin interventions.

Are your products gluten free?

Although some of our products contain natural wheat derived ingredients, it is important to know that gluten molecules are too large to penetrate the skin. Studies have shown that gluten applied topically has no adverse reactions on anybody with an allergy. However, you should consult your physician before receiving any skin or cosmetic treatment.

Are your products vegan?

Most products are considered vegan, but not all, as traces of beeswax, honey, and some other marine-derived compounds may be present in some products. However, we have a strict cruelty-free, no tolerance policy with all products sold and used at Self&Care.

Are your products all natural? 

While we aim to use products closest to their natural form, not all products used at Self&Care can be deemed "all natural". A common assumption is that natural products or ingredients are safer than synthetic ones. This is not always the case.

Sometimes natural ingredients are safer and better than synthetic alternatives, but there are many naturally occurring substances that are not safe, and some of them are used as ingredients in personal care products.

What is holistic?
Holistic health is a philosophy of healing that considers the whole person -- body, mind, spirit, and emotions -- in the quest for optimal health and wellness. The whole person is made up of interdependent parts. If one part is not working properly, all the other parts will be affected.

BOOKING & CANCELLATION POLICY 

A 50% deposit is required at time of booking. A 24 hour notice is required for all cancellations. All appointments canceled within 24 hours of the appointment will forfeit the 50% deposit. Same day cancellations will be considered a no-show and charged 100% of the service cost. You will not be able to rebook until the fee is paid.
